Flaneuring in Stockholm.

This post is actually part 2 of the previous one ‘Lost in Södermalm’. If you happened to miss that, just click here!

An overall view to the direction of the old town of Stockholm. I have to confess that at this point both me and the Google Maps app on my phone was pretty lost and confused.

Even though I am not a very religious person in the classic or traditional meaning of the word, the universal message of this church, “God is love”, somehow touched me. It is something that I believe connects all the genuine forms of the ideologies that try to guide the humanity to work together – not against each other.

The apple flowers blossoming in the wealthy part of the city – based on the expensive vehicles parked around the area.

I absolutely LOVE this colourful urban mural! I wonder how long did the full working process take from designing to the finishing the painting…

Another set of blooms and trees in the middle of the romantic historic buildings! The square had multiple benches and a small cafe so that people could enjoy their coffee breaks, flaneurs or free-time in general by having a moment in these surroundings. Even if only a few people can afford to permanently live in these kinds of places, the aesthetics should belong to everyone!

These nude statues reminded me of the one (called Havis Amanda) which we have here in Helsinki.

I found Stockholm to be another city of bicycles – and why not, especially when the weather was this gorgeous? Good for your health, good for the environment and air quality… My way of getting around in Stockholm was by foot and metro (which I will do a post later on).

More Swedish flaneuring pictures yet to come on tomorrow’s post where I will present you with my path in the Stockholm Old Town! Until then, I hope you are having a lovely day, everyone!

Yours,

Miah
